One of my fall classes is taught by two professors, and they assigned their own books for the first class. I checked them out of the library and was pleased with myself for saving money. But now I'm worried: is that rude? It looks like I don't love my professors' books enough to spend money on them. I do not expect to re-read them during bouts of insomnia or pass them onto my children.
Should I leave the tacky books at home on the first day of class?
